The Movie:
First, if you've never seen The Adventures of Joe Dirt, here's a brief description of the movie:
David Spade plays the lovable white trash looser Joe Dirt. Abandoned by his parents at a tender age and left
to raise himself, Dirt travels the country in a trashed 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger seeking out his past. Dirt's story
is told in the form of an interview with shock jock Xander (Dennis Miller). An interview which sparks a Joe Dirt cult
following across the country as people flock to see their mullet wearing hero.

The Car:
The movie studio purchased a nicely restored 1969 Dodge Charger R/T which was then converted into the derelict Daytona seen in the movie
with the addition of reproduction Daytona nose and rear wing along with simulated rust and grime. Since the engine is never shown in the movie, the real
life prop car Joe Dirt Daytona's engine still sports it's mint & restored engine compartment, complete with it's mint restored "plum crazy" factory paint.
The door jambs of the prop car also still have thier mint plum crazy purple paint since the doors of the car are never shown in the open position during the
movie.
