Here's the engine from the real car, a 69 Camaro base model straight six.

Since all of the available 1/18 scale 69 Camaro diecasts are either SS 396's or Z-28's, a Ertl SS 396 was choosen as the starting point. Lot's of modifications are going to be needed to the exterior.

The 396 engine will have to go. Plenty of changes in store for the interior, too.
